Conical Water Treatment Tanks

Conical Water Treatment Tanks are a key component in a wastewater treatment system.  The treatment tank reaction vessel is where the wastewater is mixed with flocculants or chemicals to cause the suspended solids in the wastewater to clump together to make flocs.  Wastewater treatment tank is generally fitted with a top-mounted mixer to speed up the reaction time within the tank.  When these solids to clump together (flocs), they sink to the bottom of the cone of the tank which enables the sludge to be drained when required.  These tanks are generally used for batch processing wastewater from equalisation tanks.  As with all mixer tanks, baffles aid the mixing in the tank as they break up the effects of vortexing in the tank.

Conical Reaction Vessels

Conical water treatment tanks are also used as reaction vessels for wastewater flocculent mixing where the chemicals are added to the wastewater.  Flocculation consists of three distinctive processes coagulation, flash mixing and flocculation which the water can then be pumped to a clarification tank for clean water removal.  Sufficient time and velocity are necessary to maximise the effectiveness of the flocculent so that the individual parts come together.

Conical Tanks for ph. Balance Neutralization Systems

Conical tanks are used for ph. neutralization systems and for ph. correction where raw effluent water supply requires balancing before treatment.  The neutralization of process water in wastewater treatment processes is processed either in batch or continuous process.  Where the ph. requires raising, strong acids are used whereas chemicals such as sodium hydroxide are used to lower the ph. in acidic water.  More details on our neutralisation tanks are available here

• Versatile – you can choose  5, 15, 30, 45 and 60-degree cone angles. The steeper the angle the better for settling and separation of solids.

• Separation of solids – efficient management helped by the cone shape.
• Fixtures – these are accessible and customisable.

Tanks are available with options including liquid level sensor assemblies, and tanker fill pipes.  A range of fittings including PN16 and ANSI flanges, welded sockets and as well as fume proof lids and vents.
